There are many who identify antiaging research as simply cosmetic; at the same time there are serious medical research programs which work toward finding the right weapon to fight aging; not only from a cosmetic point of view but also from a health point of view. A breakthrough in this aspect would not only help in improving looks, but also slowing down diseases and the dilapidating effects of old age.

Stem Cells as a Medical Breakthrough

Stem cells are cells that come from the umbilical chord of a mammal. These cells have a wonderful way of “becoming” whatever it is you would want them to turn into. There have been many research studies carried out on the regeneration capacities of these cells with some very encouraging results. In many instances it has been found that stem cells can successfully regenerate tissue which has been destroyed due to accidents or diseases, including brain tissue. This breakthrough is almost a miracle.

Applications of Stem Cells in Antiaging Research

Antiaging research can benefit greatly from this break-though in medicine. The options can be simply limitless. It can be to regenerate skin of course, but it also has tremendous implications with regard to the possibility of regenerating say a lost eye, or muscle tissue of the face among other things. Things that today are taken care of by intricate and expensive plastic surgery can be replaced by totally regenerating the missing tissue/ organ.

Antiaging Research and Longevity

Besides the cosmetic aspect which actually gained prominence because of the high commercialization of appearance today, antiaging research will have tremendous benefits in helping delay organ malfunction by keeping them younger. As the organs age, they start giving trouble but if stem cells or other research such as Vitamin K applications are successful, then a person’s longevity will increase. Their vitality and health will also be less liable to suffer from aging problems.

Hope in The Future

Millions of dollars are pumped into antiaging research and hopefully sooner than later people will learn how to use nature to their advantage. Many do not mind dying, but they really seem to mind old age. If people could stay in their physical condition of a 30 year old and live till 65 – 70 years, it would be a dream-come-true. This is a lot to hope for today, but with every step that medical science makes we find ourselves closer to realizing the dream. It may take a decade or two, but we will definitely get there.

Clinical Research, an emerging branch of medical science, determines the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products and treatment regiments that are intended for the human use. It may also be used for prevention, treatment and relief of symptoms in a disease. This has the clear potential for the strong growth in the future that driven by technological and scientific advances.

In Clinical Research, we do a systematic study for new drugs in human subjects to generate data for verifying or discovering the Clinical, Pharmacological or adverse effects to determine the safety and efficacy of the new drug. For this purpose, it conducts four phases.

1) Phase 1 trials: – The first phase of trial usually deals with the trial of the medicine in a small number of people such as health volunteers under the close supervision of a doctor. The main purpose of this trial is to determine whether the new compound is tolerated by body of the patient and behaves in the predicted way.

2) Phase 2 trials: – In the second phase, the medicine is administered to a group of about 100 to 300 informed patients for determining its effects. It also checks for any unacceptable side effects of the product.

3) Phase 3 trials: – The third phase is usually multi-centric phase that deals with the trial on the more than 1000 patients. This phase focuses on the effects of drugs in various ethnic groups, as compared to the standard drugs on the market and it also study of the drug effect on the different variants of the disease.

4) Phase 4 trials: – This phase is conducted after the launch of the drug on the market. It is a surveillance operation phase after the medicine is made available to the doctors who start prescribing it. The aim of this phase is to identify newer and to unknown adverse reactions and effects in different ethnic groups. This entire journey of a drug from the lab to market may take approx. 12 to 18 years.

By concluding, we can say that the main focus of clinical research is enough to include data management, medical writing, regulatory consultation and biostatistics to name a few.

Ways To Prevent Dry Skin

Usually the fall and winter months are the months most people experience dry skin. You can plan ahead for the dry skin but most people do not. There are several good ways for prevention of dry skin.

These are ways to prevent you from having dry skin. Or for treating it once it occurs.

1. Wear protective clothing – Exposed skin to cold water will cause dry skin. Wear protective clothing to protect your skin. Especially on your hands and face.

2. Avoid hot water showers – Consider taking warm baths instead of hot water showers. Hot water showers actually strip the natural oils from your skin that prevent dryness.

3. Use mild soap – Use soaps that are mild. Soaps with harsh chemicals and abrasives can rip away the nature oils in your skin.

4. Use lotions and moisturizers – Using lotions and moisturizers on a regular basic can help you prevent dry skin.

5. Use bath oils – Adding bath oils to your baths is another way of maintaining oil in your body.

Using these methods ongoing will help you to prevent dry skin before it occurs.

The Cause Of Dry Skin

The cause of dry skin range widely. However understanding what is causing your skin to be dry will help you to prevent it from happening over and over again. Some of the common causes of dry skin are:

. Low humidity – Your skin reacts to humidity level. If it is exposed to warm air and then cold it dries out causing your skin to flake.

. Frequent Washing – If you wash your skin too often using a very hot temperature of water it loses its important natural oils.

. Soap – Using harsh soap will draw out and wash away your natural oils. Use only mild soaps.

. Vitamin A – The lack of vitamin A in your diet can also cause your skin to be dry.

. Illness – Medications taken while ill can cause dry skin.

. Sunlight – Sunlight can draw out moisture from your skin. Use a sun blocking moisturizer.

The Medical Science Behind Dry Skin

Most people face dry skin problems in their lives. Those that do usually wonder whether it is something to worry about and should they see a doctor. Usually these questions are answered on an individual basis. There are several qualifications to consider in the medical science behind dry skin.

The medical name for dry skin is Xeroderm. This actually means dry skin. This condition affects your skin or your largest organ. The condition usually happen because your body has lost important natural oils and moisture from its cell wall. Therefore, causing your skin to have a dry feeling. Because the skin is composed of several layers, they reaction to this condition could differ depending on the extent of the condition.

The only necessary treatment for dry skin, for most patients, is to take better care of it and to use moisturizers and emollients on the skin. Your body will remain healthy with these things because they replenish the lost moisture and oils in the skin. There are prescription ointments and moisturizers for more serious conditions in which the skin is damaged from being too dry. Here is a crème you may like:

http://www.clickaudit.com/goto/?50572

Xeroderma occurs throughout the body but some areas are affected more often than others. For instance, you may find it in your lower legs, arms, thighs and your body’s side. The most common area is near the abdomen. Other areas include the hands, face and neck.

Usually if you are suffering from Xeroderm you will experience scaling which is actually the lost of the first layer of your outer skin. This is often a visible sign. Other experiences are itching and in extreme cases cracks will appear in the skin. This often occurs when you are experiencing dry skin on your feet.

Most people will at some point face the problem of dry skin. It should be taken care of because as you continue to scratch your skin can open and cause more damage.

Although we can’t tell you what doctors depict as being rare compared to common, we have comprised a list of some of the most widely diagnosed conditions. You do not have to be suffering from one of these conditions in order to view it as common. The term “common” is more leaning towards a wider percentage of people who do have these particular conditions.

Migraines- Unfortunately, we’ve all had to deal with a headache or two, however, minor headaches are not seen as a serious illness that you should rush to your doctor about. When the severity of the headaches escalate so high that they become a debilitating condition suffered on a regular basis, they are then referred to as migraines. In this case, it is recommended that you see a doctor.

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) – Diagnosis of ADHD has increased a great deal. This disorder yields symptoms such as: inability to concentrate, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. While this is extremely common in children and teens, adults may also suffer from ADHD, feeling more of a sense of restlessness than hyperactivity. ADHD treatment varies, though most often it is treated through medication.

Depression is a very common condition that more than 45% of Americans suffer. Most people experience depression throughout their lives in some way or another, and some cases can be much more severe than others. Some people are more prone to become depressed due to life circumstances or experiences, such as new mothers, war veterans, or someone who has recently lost a loved one.

Some other conditions you may be familiar with are the symptoms of allergy and asthma, as well as influenza, or the “flu.” Severe allergy and asthma conditions are usually treated through doctor-prescribed medications. Treating flu symptoms is generally easier, as it can often be tamed with over-the-counter medications.

Common medical conditions are just that—common. There is no need to panic about them, doctors have the way to treat you for a common medical problem down to a science, so no need to worry, you will be just fine.
